British Airways’ top destinations for August

British Airways has announced the most popular destinations for travellers in August.

Rome and New York head the list for short breaks away, and for longer trips, Orlando, Barbados and Mauritius are top of the charts. With more and more flight frequency to these destinations, travellers from the UK are making the most of the summer sun available abroad.

The managing director of British Airways Holidays suggested the predictably poor UK weather was the main reason for the surge in popularity of these destinations. “Yet again the great British summer has proved a complete wash out so we are seeing a heavy demand from our UK customers for last minute overseas holidays,” Claire Bentley said.

The most popular short break destinations are New York, Rome, Venice, Barcelona and Jersey. “Thanks to a range of new leisure destinations, including Marrakech, and even more flights to the always popular Caribbean, customers are sure to find that British Airways can help them get away for their perfect summer holiday.”

“Since we introduced dynamic packaging on in 2008 we have seen a huge increase in sales from customers using the new feature on to find special deals at competitive prices,” continued Bentley. With British Airways continuing to increase the number of flights heading over to the Caribbean, it’s becoming a highly popular destination for families.

And with a staggering 17 flights a day departing from London to the Big Apple, it doesn’t look like New York is going to fall from British Airways’ top holiday destinations any time soon.
